PNY's Siggraph 2006 Extravaganza

Superman Returns, the latest blockbuster from Warner Bros, footage was soaring all over the PNY booth at Siggraph 2006 in Boston. At the Digital Intermediate (DI) station, ASSIMILATE's SCRATCHTM paired with Globalstor®'s ExtremeStor-DI, using the NVIDIA Quadro® FX 5500 SDI by PNY, was showing a high-performance fault-tolerant hi-definition DI solution. Academy award-winning VFX supervisor Scott Anderson, founder of Digital Sandbox, used a similar solution for color management of Superman Returns.

At the On-Air Broadcast Graphics station, visitors could see examples of major networks on-air HD graphics demonstrated by VizRT, who were showing Viz|Trio, a powerful 2D and 3D on-air broadcast character generator. The VizRT system was using the power of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5500 SDI by PNY to demonstrate the on-air quality demanded from VizRT's broadcast clients.
At the center of the booth was the stunning digital sign, which was powered by Harris® InfoCasterTM digital signage software using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 X2 by PNY. Broadcast and motion picture clips were displayed which had been created using PNY graphic boards including: Disney's The Wild created by ReelFX Creative Studios, 2006 Feature Reel from Rhythm + Hues Studios, and PBS Kids® It's a Big Big World produced by Wainscott Studios .

Reel FX Creative Studios Uncages "The Wild" with NVIDIA Quadro® FX by PNY graphic boards

Reel FX Creative Studios, an award-winning Dallas-based studio, created the opening sequence of Disney's latest animated picture "The Wild" using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY Technologies® graphic board and IRIDAS' FrameCycler. As an integral part of the production pipeline, this powerful combination allowed Reel FX to create a dynamic opening sequence, on time and on budget.
"We are proud to be associated with Reel FX and the great work they achieved using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY graphic board and IRIDAS' FrameCycler. It proves yet again how well this robust and reliable ultra high performance graphic board performs in the film and broadcast market," said Jeff Medeiros business development manager, PNY Technologies Inc.

To increase the efficiency of their production pipeline, Reel FX animators have IRIDAS' FrameCycler installed together with NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY graphic boards in their workstations. "All of our animators can view their animations in real-time at full resolution as they work. This is critical, because if it takes too long to render or view an animation, it limits creativity," said Dale Carman, Chief Visioneer at Reel FX Creative Studios.
