From historic Tall Ships to Party Boats, Scarano Boat builders rely on the speed of the
NVIDIA® Quadro FX by PNY Technologies graphics boards in their design work. Having been so impressed with the performance of the NVDIA Quadro FX 3400 by PNY in their CAD workstations, they have recently added the
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500 by PNY.
Scarano performs all of their 3D modeling in SolidWorks®. According to Keith Duffy, Scarano Boatbuilding’s Lead Designer/CAD Modeler “We selected the NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY Technologies because SolidWorks firmly recommends the NVIDIA graphics boards from PNY …When I began using the NVIDIA® Quadro FX by PNY Technologies, the activity was so fast it made me jump.”
Using NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY graphics boards, Scarano takes advantage of SolidWorks’ RealView function. RealView allows Scarano’s designers to create fully rendered images of their models in real time. According to Duffy: “ While we are building the model in SolidWorks we render views with PhotoWorks of the boat and its systems to share in our design office. This enables our systems designer, structural engineer, production manager and customer to understand the boat design and to anticipate the final product. The NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY enables us to show our clients realistic and lifelike renderings. Our customer can use these renderings to share with their prospects and customers to develop anticipated business and contracts.“
